材料系（工学府 物質工学専攻）
溶接に関する研究に携わっており、現在は凝固割れの研究を行っています。この割れは、凝固時に生じる合金元素、不純物元素の濃化が原因で発生し、溶接や連続鋳造の際に問題となります。各材料の割れ易さを定量的に評価することが課題です。
大学時代の研究テーマがステンレス鋼の水素脆化であり、ステンレス鋼に興味があったこと、大学時代の経験や知識が生かせると思ったからです。また、工場見学や会社説明会で出会った先輩社員のやる気、熱意も決め手のひとつです。
①仕事を本人のためになるかどうかという視点で任せてもらえる、②勉強会や講演会などにも積極的に参加することができる、といったように若手を育てようという風土があるところです。
